'I should be giving him the rematch' says King Mo on loss to Rampage at Bellator 120
It's safe to say Muhammad "King Mo" Lawal doesn't agree with the judges' decision on his fight at Bellator 120, and for anyone who tuned in for the inaugural Bellator pay-per-view - he might have a point.
King Mo, along with his manager Mike Kogan, appeared on the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani on Monday and the duo shared their thoughts on the controversial decision but also brought up the lack of support Mo received from Bellator founder and CEO Bjorn Rebney.
Kogan said that he felt all Rebney did in the buildup to the fight was praise Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and talk about how great his resurgence has been, without acknowledging Mo as a dangerous opponent with high-level wrestling.
After the decision was announced at Bellator 120 on Saturday night, Mo also had some choice words for Rebney and Rampage in the post-fight interview:
Needless to say, Mo would probably be open to a rematch but the loss definitely stirred up some emotion in the 33-year-old light heavyweight who believes his strong takedowns and wrestling should have earned him the nod over the former UFC light heavyweight champion.
Rampage has also said he's willing to give Mo a rematch and seems to have no interest in taking on his teammate and Bellator light heavyweight champion Emmanuel Newton.
That said, with Tito Ortiz pulling off a big upset over Alexander Shlemenko at Bellator 120 as well, the promotion might want to cash in on the big name recognition and try to revive the Rampage-Tito bout that was originally slated for Bellator's failed pay-per-view debut last November.
