Report: Renzo Gracie faces gang assault charges after New York nightclub fight
A Brazilian jiu-jitsu great is facing serious charges following an incident at a upscale Manhattan nightclub.
Renzo Gracie and his cousin Igor Gracie were arrested along with five other people after their crew allegedly sent a nightclub doorman at 1 OAK to the hospital with a fractured right arm as well as some bruises and cuts, according to a report from the New York Post.
Sherdog was able to obtain an eyewitness report of the incident which said Gracie got involved in a confrontation with the doorman before he and his crew squared off with bouncers. A fight ensued and Gracie allegedly put the doorman in a full mount while another member of his group hit another bouncer with a construction cone. Police eventually arrived and took Gracie and his crew into custody.
It's still unclear what caused the altercation to take place.
