Cummins set to face returning Kingsbury at UFC on FOX 12 in San Jose
It doesn't look like Patrick Cummins is going back to the coffee shop anytime soon.
The world's most famous barista-turned-brawler, also known as "Durkin," will fight Kyle Kingsbury at UFC on FOX 12 in San Jose, Calif., sources told FOX Sports on Tuesday.
Cummins, a 33-year-old Pennsylvania native, is fresh off his first UFC victory on Saturday at UFC Fight Night 42 in Albuquerque, N.M. He finished Roger Narvaez in the third round of their light heavyweight bout, which kicked off the card. Most people might remember Narvaez as the man who had the guts to call out Daniel Cormier on short notice before being finished by the former Olympic wrestler in just over a minute.
Kingsbury will return to the Octagon after almost two years away from the sport. The 32-year-old considered retirement after breaking his orbital bone in two places in his last UFC outing, a TKO loss to Jimi Manuwa in September 2012. After winning four straight fights in the UFC, Kingsbury dropped his last three against Manuwa, Glover Teixeira, and Stephan Bonnar.
UFC on FOX 12 goes down on July 26 at the SAP Center in San Jose and will be headlined by a welterweight collision between Robbie Lawler and Matt Brown, which is expected to determine UFC welterweight champion Johny Hendricks' next opponent.
