Report: MMA fighter War Machine facing 32 felony charges, life in prison
The list of felony charges against former UFC and Bellator fighter War Machine is long and thorough.
According to ESPN, the man formerly known as Jonathan Koppenhaver appeared in a Las Vegas courtroom on Wednesday and was advised of the 32 charges he faces for an alleged assault on his ex-girlfriend and her friend. The charges stemming from the August 8 incident include attempted murder, domestic battery by strangulation, first-degree kidnapping and sexual assault.
The combined sentences could potentially add up to life in prison. Koppenhaver previously served time on an attempted battery conviction in 2012.
Koppenhaver was arrested in Ventura County, Calif., and extradited to Las Vegas on August 30 to appear in court. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 17.
