Travis Browne violently reinserted himself into the heavyweight title picture Saturday night with a violent first-round TKO of Brendan Schaub.
Browne dominated Schaub in all aspects of the fight, stunning the former professional football player with a sneaky uppercut before punishing him with strikes on the floor.
Schaub tried to recover, but "Hapa" was relentless, eventually taking "Big Brown's" back and landing heavy punches before referee Mario Yamasaki stepped in to stop the onslaught at 4:50 of the opening round.
The victory improved Browne's record to 17-2-1 (8-2-1 UFC), while the loss dropped Schaub to 10-5 (6-5 UFC).
