- Anthony Johnson punched his ticket to a future title shot against Jon Jones with a spectacular drubbing of former No. 1 contender Alexander Gustafsson at UFC on FOX 14 in January.
- Ryan Bader slid into the top five with a razor-close (and relatively boring) split-decision victory over Phil Davis at UFC on FOX 14. After being blistered by Golver Teixeira in September of 2013, Bader has pieced together a nice little four-fight winning streak.
- With Gustafsson and fellow former title challenger Daniel Cormier both coming off losses, it would make sense to throw them into a cage together and see what kind of ultra-violence ensues. Unfortunately, we won't get to see that matchup ... at least not yet, as UFC president Dana White has already found future opponents for both men (although nothing has been announced).
