| 9 | Rousimar Palhares |
| 10 | Kelvin Gastelum |
- Tyron Woodley kept himself in the top five with a lackluster split-decision victory over Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 183. Woodley had a legitimate excuse for his muted performance, though, as he suffered a broken foot at some point during the first round.
- Gastelum's days as a welterweight may be numbered. The 23-year-old Arizonan, who has always struggled on the scales during his UFC career, missed weight by a whopping nine (!!!) pounds prior to his loss to Woodley.
- With champion Robbie Lawler opting to take a few months off, Johny Hendricks, who was originally promised a title rematch, has decided to keep busy with a fight against the impossibly rugged Matt Brown at UFC 185.
- Rory MacDonald, likely the true No. 1 contender, will try to keep his spot among the top three with a bout against former Olympian Hector Lombard at UFC 186.
