Cris Cyborg drops Charmaine Tweet to defend Invicta title
It didn't take long for Cris "Cyborg" Justino to send a very violent message to UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.
Justino defended her Invicta FC featherweight title Friday with a TKO finish of Charmaine Tweet just 46 seconds into the first round of their fight for Invicta 11 at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles.
Among the notable attendees was UFC president Dana White who spoke with AXS TV about going to watch Justino fight.
"I’m actually gonna go watch her fight tonight and I don’t know, we’ll go from there," White said, as reported by Anton Tabuena of Bloody Elbow.
Justino has been long rumored for a blockbuster showdown against Rousey but has yet to be signed by the UFC and currently competes at 145 pounds while the highest women's weight class in the promotion is 135 pounds. There has been definite interest in the past, but Justino and the UFC have yet to come to terms on a deal.
