Alas, Brock Lesnar won't be making his return to the Octagon.
In an interview on ESPN's SportsCenter on Tuesday, the former UFC heavyweight champion ruled out returning to MMA in favor of signing a new multi-year contract with the WWE.

With The Beast Incarnate's WWE contract set to expire following Wrestlemania, rumors swirled about his return to the UFC, and according to Lesnar, he trained for two and a half months in anticipation of a potential comeback.
In the end, the WWE made an offer Lesnar couldn't refuse, and he decided his future was brighter in the world of predetermined outcomes.
Lesnar was a box-office boon for the UFC during his heyday with the promotion, violently capturing the heavyweight title from Randy Couture at UFC 91 back in November of 2008.
The former NCAA heavyweight wrestling champion defended his title three times before being absolutely destroyed by current division kingpin Cain Velasquez at UFC 121.
Lesnar, who was dealing with a serious case of diverticulitis for part of his reign, eventually left the sport following a one-sided drubbing courtesy of Alistair Overeem at UFC 141 in 2011.
