Don Frye to Ronda Rousey: 'I don't want to hear you say you can fight a man until you fight Cyborg'

Following a 14-second demolition of Cat Zingano at UFC 184, the cupboards were starting to look kinda bare in the women's bantamweight division for champion Ronda Rousey.

Unsurprisingly (and unnecessarily), talk turned to Rousey testing her skills against similarly-sized men, a notion that was quickly quashed by "Rowdy" herself, who rightfully pointed out that no commission worth it's salt would ever sanction a high-level bout between a man and woman.

Despite this dismissal, former UFC tournament winner Don Frye appeared on Submission Radio to talk about a potential inter-gender bout featuring Rousey, and, according to the man with the Tom Selleck-esque moustache, Rousey needs to prove herself against Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino before she can consider taking on a man in the cage.

"Oh my god, this is so fucking stupid," Frye said, according to BloodyElbow.com's Anton Tabuena. "Why is she bitching about - who's the woman fighter that she keeps complaining about? ... Cyborg. Fight Cyborg.

"Tell her to shut the hell up," Frye continued. "I don't want to hear you say you can fight a man until you fight Cyborg. And don't insist that she gets drug tested for anything, and don't insist that she makes weight. Shut the hell up and fight the woman like a real fighter does. Don't worry about rules and this and that."

Rousey and UFC president Dana White have long maintained that Cyborg would have to successfully cut down to 135 pounds before a Rousey-Cyborg super fight could ever come to fruition.
