Jon Jones stripped of UFC light heavyweight title, suspended indefinitely
Jon Jones has been stripped of his UFC light heavyweight title and is suspended indefinitely after his arrest for his alleged involvement in a hit-and-run on Sunday, UFC president Dana White announced on "FOX Sports Live."
Jones is currently out on bond after turning himself into Albuquerque, N.M., police on Monday. A 25-year-old pregnant woman that was driving the car Jones allegedly struck, suffered a broken arm in the accident, according to police.
He was supposed to face Anthony Johnson at UFC 187, but Johnson will now take on Daniel Cormier for the vacant light heavyweight title.
"It's not fun, but you know what they say: the show goes on," White said. "Obviously he has to focus on his legal matters right now."
Jones commented on his legal issues Tuesday evening and was apologetic.
Got a lot of soul searching to do. Sorry to everyone I've let down.

It's been a rough year for Jones, who entered a drug treatment facility in January after failing a drug test prior to UFC 182.
