After pulling out of his much-anticipated UFC 187 fight with Donald Cerrone Wednesday night, it looks like Khabib Nurmagomedov isn't coming back anytime soon.
According to a report from prosport-online.ru, translated by Bloody Elbow, Nurmagomedov's father said that his son will likely require surgery for his torn meniscus and will be out for five months as a result.
"Khabib injured his meniscus. The diagnosis is confirmed. They will operate in the next few days in Los Angeles. He can fight again only in five months; two months for recovery after surgery and another three for a training camp."
Nurmagomedov has been replaced by Canadian lightweight John Makdessi, who will now face Cerrone at UFC 187.
