- After three botched attempts, Chris Weidman and Vitor Belfort will finally (*crosses fingers*) meet in the Octagon with the middleweight strap on the line at UFC 187 in May.
- Luke Rockhold violently announced himself as the division's No.1 contender at UFC on FOX 15 in April, easily dispatching former light heavyweight kingpin Lyoto Machida with a slick rear-naked choke. Rockhold is 4-1 since making the transition from Strikeforce, with every single victory coming via stoppage.
- Originally scheduled to face Yoel Romero at UFC on FOX 15, Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza had to take a giant step backward, running roughshod over Chris Camozzi in a rematch no one asked for. A victory over an unranked opponent did nothing for Jacare's title aspirations, a notion that was accentuated by Rockhold's stirring triumph over Machida.
