Noke, Hooker, Rawlings, Alvey emerge victorious on UFC Fight Night 65 prelims

Dan Hooker def. Hatsu Hioki via second-round KO

Dan Hooker is in the head-kicking business. And cousin, business is a-boomin'.

Hatsu Hioki looked like the better fighter for much of the almost two-round bout, landing the cleaner strikes on the feet and controlling most of the grappling exchanges. Still, Hooker was game, and snuck in a few head kicks, setting up the violent finish that was upcoming.

With just under a minute left in the second stanza, Hooker stunned Hioki with a head kick and followed it up with a few coffin nails while Hioki entered survival mode before referee John Sharp jumped in to stop the onslaught.

Kyle Noke def. Jonavin Webb via split-decision

Judges, man. Sometimes they just don't know what they're doing.

Jonavin Webb is a grappling magician, and Kyle Noke, a savvy veteran, is tougher than a $3 steak that's been left under a heating lamp for 72 hours.

Webb, who stunned Noke with some heavy shots (Noke's sturdy chin held up), was hell on wheels on the floor, going for multiple leg locks, while taking Noke's back on more than one occasion with some slick transitions.

Noke, like some sort of terminator, kept coming forward and even reversed Webb's position on the mat at one point and unleashed some decent ground-and pound.

Despite Noke's toughness, Webb repeatedly beat him to the punch, and was more often than not controlling the grappling exchanges. As such, it was pretty surprising - borderline shocking - when Noke was awarded the split-decision victory.

Horrible, terrible decision.

Sam Alvey def. Daniel Kelly via first-round TKO

Sam Alvey made short work of Daniel Kelly. Very, very short work.

Seconds into the opening frame, Alvey crushed Kelly with a big right hand, and then sent him on an unscheduled trip to the mat with a clubbing uppercut. From there, Alvey poured it on, landing a barrage of punches until referee Steve Perceval mercifully stepped in to stop the fight .

Just 49 seconds of pure violence. Also, pretty nice tan.

Bec Rawlings def. Lisa Ellis via first-round rear-naked choke

Bec Rawlings brought the violence on Saturday night.

After a few minutes of scrambles and a failed armbar, Rawlings landed some clean shots on Lisa Ellis, sending her crashing to the mat with a big knee. Rawlings wasted little time taking advantage of the position, securing Ellis' back before sinking in the fight-ending rear-naked choke.

Beautiful.
