Mousasi dominates Philippou in co-main event at UFC Fight Night 66
Costas Philippou is a good middleweight, but Gegard Mousasi is on another level.
After a brief feeling-out process, Mousasi shifted gears and easily took Philippou to the mat. From there, Mousasi ran game on Philippou, landing punches and elbows while easily controlling his opponent with tight top-control.
The second round played out much like the first, with Mousasi keeping Philippou at range on the feet with a stiff jab before taking the fight to the floor and controlling the action.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, Mousasi kept the control train a-rollin’ in the third round, taking Philippou to the ground and controlling every aspect of the fight for the entire five minutes.
Just a very impressive performance from "The Dreamcatcher," who was never in danger, and took virtually no damage.
Mousasi with a clinical performance against Philippou. Perfect game plan. Perfect execution. Still just 29 years old somehow.
