Henderson isn't bothered by critics questioning if he has anything left

Instead of quietly riding off into the sunset following a disheartening loss to Gegard Mousasi in January, MMA legend Dan Henderson is set to engage in a potential firefight against Tim Boetsch at UFC Fight Night 68 on Saturday night.

With nothing left to prove in his illustrious, almost two-decades long career, the man with the face-liquefying right hand just wanted to get back into the cage as soon as humanly possible.

"Just to get back in there," Henderson told reporters of his motivation to fight Boetsch. "I just wanted to get back in there as soon as I could, and this was the name they said, and I said 'OK.' I didn't complain at all."

Leading up to the fight, it feels as though a growing number of media members are eager to write Henderson's career obituary. It's an unfortunate reality for a 44-year-old fighter who counts just a single victory in his last six trips to the Octagon.

"It doesn't bother me at all," Henderson said of the critics who question if he has anything left in the tank. "Basically, you just gotta watch on Saturday. I feel good. I'm ready to go. Conditioning and everything else is right on track, where it should be for a five round fight. I'm excited."
