Birchak runs roughshod over Joe Soto
Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports
Joe Soto lasted nearly five rounds with bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw. He lasted 97 seconds against Anthony Birchak.
Birchak came out like a man possessed, hurting Soto with a shot right hand, before bludgeoning him with a torrent of heavy elbows and punches, while Soto tried to shell up, but couldn't survive the onslaught. Soto eventually timbered to the mat after absorbing an uppercut and succumbed to strikes at 1:37 of the opening stanza.
A great flurry by Birchak, way he worked those standing elbows in, woof. Beautiful right uppercut to put him down and out. Lovely offense.
