- Joanna Jedrzejczyk is the most terrifying 115-pound human being on the planet. "Joanna Champion" completely decimated Jessica Penne at UFC Fight Night 69 in June. Jedrzejczyk battered Penne with punches and elbows for the better part of three rounds until referee Marc Goddard mercifully stepped in to save a swollen, bloody Penne from further punishment.
- Former WSOF champion Jessica Aguilar is set to make her Octagon debut against Claudia Gadelha at UFC 190 in August. With victories over former UFC champion Carla Esparza and MMA legend Megumi Fujii, Aguilar was the best 115-pounder fighting outside the Zuffa umbrella until recently.
- Esparza, the inaugural UFC strawweight champion, is likely out for 6-8 months after undergoing surgery on an injured shoulder.
- It wasn't pretty – well, it was downright ugly – but Tecia Torres improved to 2-0 in her UFC career with a workmanlike unanimous decision victory over Angela Hill at UFC 188 in June.
