The UFC is targeting a heavyweight bout between former champions Andrei Arlovski and Frank Mir for UFC 191, according to Ariel Helwani of "UFC Tonight."
Once thrown on the heavyweight scrap heap, Arlovski has crafted one of the greatest career resurgences this side of Robbie Lawler. The 36-year-old Belarusian is 3-0 since returning to the Octagon in 2014, including consecutive first-round stoppages over Antonio Silva and Travis Browne.
Much like Arlovski, Mir's career essentially flatlined in the last few years, losing four in a row before taking a year off to reassess his future. The time off did wonders for the 36 year-old grappling wizard, though, and he's already racked up a pair of knockout victories in 2015, completely decimating Antonio Silva and Todd Duffee.
UFC 191 takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sept. 5, and features a flyweight title bout between Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson in the main event.
