McGregor verbally spars with Cerrone at press conference
Friday's "Go Big" press conference wonderfully devolved into the Conor McGregor show.
McGregor verbally eviscerated almost everyone on the panel, focusing much of his attention on nemesis Jose Aldo, before eventually spewing some entertaining vitriol at the entire lightweight division.
"I can make you rich," McGregor said, according to MMAFighting.com's Marc Raimondi. "I change your bum life. You fight me, it's a celebration. When you sign to fight me, it's a celebration. You ring back home, you ring your wife. 'Baby, we've done it. We're rich, baby. Conor McGregor made us rich. Break out the red panties. We're rich, baby.' So don't say you wouldn't take that fight, because you would take that fight like everyone else up here would take the fight against me if it was offered, regardless of belts or any of that sh-t. I'm the money fight and the male sh*t at all weight divisions. So f-ck everybody else up here."
Donald Cerrone – the lightweight division's foremost purveyor of ultraviolence – wasn't amused by the brash Irishman's antics, and issued a stern warning to the interim featherweight champion: stay in your own weight class.
"Conor has no right coming up to 55," Cerrone said. "There's no way. He's not gonna stand a chance. We're too big for him, we're too strong. So you can take your little English ass and get on."
Undaunted, McGregor continued to to cut a beautiful, pro wrestling-esque promo.
"I see stiffness when I look in that 155-pound division," McGregor said. "Slow, stiff. I feel like they're stuck in the mud almost. The featherweights, they hit like flyweights. So it's nice down there just destroying them and killing that whole division. But I have my eye on that 155 division and I see them all stuck in the mud in there."
