Johnson retains title at UFC 191 with dominant victory over Dodson
Demetrious Johnson comes in unrelenting waves.
An MMA machine with an unending gas tank and a thirst to steadily dismantle his opponents over five rounds until their will to fight is completely whittled away.
John Dodson was slowly fed into that machine of violence at UFC 191 on Saturday night.
The lightning quick "Mighty Mouse" outworked, outlanded, and outperformed Dodson over 25-minutes, completely outclassing Dodson en route to a lopsided unanimous decision victory.
Johnson's sheer dominance became more and more apparent as the bout raged on, as he stifled Dodson's offense, while masterfully deploying a perfect combination of hit-and-run striking, grinding clinch, and multiple takedowns that kept a confounded "Magician" guessing, and feebly unable to fire back.
Demetrious Johnson earns his 9th straight UFC win, tied with Chris Weidman for 2nd longest streak among UFC fighters behind Jon Jones (12).

With Dodson seen as the only possible heir to the 125-pound throne, it appears Johnson has cleaned out the division. Unless Henry Cejudo grows by leaps-and-bounds in his next bout, or Joseph Benavidez - a two time loser to Johnson - continues to run roughshod over potential contenders, the cupboards look relatively bare for Johnson at flyweight.
Such as life when you're one of the finest mixed martial artists on the planet.
