Rousey says she's UFC's highest paid because 'I make them the most money'

More a force of nature than a fighter, Ronda Rousey is the UFC's biggest star by at least 1,887 country miles.

A mainstream sensation, Rousey has starred in movies, wrote a bestselling book, and bagged a couple of ESPYS - all while being, justifiably, the sport's highest-paid athlete.

"I think how much you get paid should have something to do with how much you bring in. I'm the highest paid fighter not because Dana (White) and Lorenzo (Fertitta) wanted to do something nice for the ladies," Rousey said at a press conference for UFC 193, according to Fox Sports' Damon Martin.

"They do it because I bring in the highest numbers. They do it because I make them the most money. I think the money that they make should be proportionate to the money that they bring in."

Needing a combined 48 seconds to decimate her last two opponents, Rousey reportedly scored the highest-selling UFC pay-per-view of 2015 with her 34-second drubbing of Bethe Correia at UFC 190 in April.

The women's bantamweight champion faces her next challenge on Nov. 15, when she takes on former world boxing champion Holly Holm in the main event of UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia.
