CM Punk's UFC debut delayed by shoulder injury
CM Punk has never lost a fight in the UFC.
Then again, he hasn't won one, either.
With a MMA record of 0-0, the middleweight - who signed with the UFC in December - has yet to step into the Octagon.
Punk - whose birth name is Phil Brooks - suffered a shoulder injury during training which will delay his debut at least a month, ESPN's Brett Okamoto reported on Monday.
"He got caught in a scramble, so right now he's taking a little time off," Punk's coach Duke Roufus said. "He was doing great before that."
"Our biggest thing is we want him to (be) 101 percent before (we resuming training)," Roufus added. "We don't have a hard date for his fight to force the issue, so making sure he's completely healthy is possible."
Roufus indicated that the 36-year-old might be ready to go next spring, with at least a three-month window for pre-fight promotion once Punk's opponent is announced.
