'Cyborg' Justino thinks Rousey needs to be a better role model
Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino thinks Ronda Rousey talks too much.
As the two greatest female fighters in MMA history circle each other like sharks with no potential bout on the horizon, Justino feels as though Rousey is far too focused on spewing negativity about others, and should really try to keep things on the positive tip.
"Ronda's always doing interviews and talking bad about somebody," Cyborg told Brutally Honest Radio, according to FOX Sports' Damon Martin. "She talks bad about the ring girls in the UFC, she talks about (Floyd) Mayweather and his domestic violence and I think you have to look at yourself before you diss somebody."
Justino's thoughts regarding Rousey's verbal attacks on Mayweather may ring especially true for some, as the UFC women's bantamweight champion's boyfriend, Travis Browne, has been accused of domestic violence in the past.
According to Justino, Rousey needs to be a better role model to young women aspiring to follow in the Olympian's footsteps, and the first step involves canning the trash talk.
"Everybody looks at her as an example," Justino said. "A lot of little girls - I hope she realizes that she's an example and a lot of people see her when she does something like this. Yeah, she's doing this to a lot of people.
"She should just talk good about herself not other people, her coach, her ex-boyfriend, Mayweather, she should just say good about herself. I don't think it's right."
Of course, if the hulking Justino is able to cut down to 135 pounds, she'll likely have a chance to hurl her brick-lake fists at Rousey at some point in 2016. That's a pretty big if, though, as the Invicta FC featherweight champion is hoping to cut to 140 pounds for her next fight. If it's a safe cut, she'll set her sights on 135.
