Sage Northcutt bets his hairdo to back up McGregor

Whether it's showing his unreal strength or equally absurd agility, Sage Northcutt has quickly learned how to keep a buzz swirling around him outside the Octagon, so it's no surprise he admires Conor McGregor, another athlete adept at creating headlines in his time off.

"McGregor has a different style," said Northcutt in an appearance on UFC fighter Sam Alvey's "Pound for Pound" podcast, according to Mirror Online's James Edwards. "He's appealing and he's good for the sport. I'm just excited to see who wins (UFC 194), it's a hard one to decide."

Alvey, asking for a pick for the McGregor-Jose Aldo title fight, challenged Northcutt to put his money his hair where his mouth is.

"I'll make you a bet, Sage," said Alvey. "If Aldo wins, you have to take a picture with your hair flat. If McGregor wins, I have to take a picture with my hair all spiked up."

Northcutt agreed, though the stakes will be significantly higher when he enters the cage himself. The 19-year-old meets Cody Pfister at UFC Fight Night 80 next Thursday.
