Pena assault allegations detailed; 2 men kicked in groin

The strange saga of Julianna Pena's arrest only gets uglier.

Pena was booked into Spokane County Jail on Sunday morning after being arrested and charged with two counts of assault for an incident that occurred at Zola, a Spokane bar. She was released on bail that afternoon.

It was apparently the culmination of a tense evening where Pena and training partner Josh Gow were involved in two separate incidents of public violence, MMAFighting.com's Marc Raimondi reports.

Predictably, Pena and the alleged victim have dramatically different takes on what happened, though both accounts reportedly have Gow being injured before showing up at Zola.

The scene in question happened after Pena and Gow walked to Zola and asked to use the washroom to treat Gow, whose face was covered in blood. Reportedly, the pair fought with 20 people outside Globe, a nearby bar, which drew the attention of authorities who found the martial artists at Zola.

In a story reportedly corroborated by two witnesses, the victim claims Pena became "irate" when she and Gow were denied entry. She allegedly kicked an employee in the groin, and then kicked the owner in the groin twice. The police report described Pena and Gow as having "obviously been drinking."

Pena reportedly said she knew the owner of Zola, but was denied entry due to the bloody state of Gow. She told police she and Gow left the bar without incident.

Since Sunday, no further statements have been made by Pena, her camp, or the UFC.
