'Irish' Micky Ward sitting ringside at UFC Fight Night in Boston

The pride of Lowell, Mass., was in attendance at Sunday's UFC Fight Night 81.

Legendary boxer "Irish" Micky Ward - who rose to prominence with a trilogy of incredible fights between he and Arturo Gatti in 2002-03 - made the trip South to the TD Garden to take in some MMA.

Ward cemented his fame when Mark Wahlberg portrayed him in the 2010 film "The Fighter" which chronicled his life and the struggles of his brother and trainer Dicky Eklund.

Ward still resides in Lowell.
