The UFC is looking to engineer a bantamweight fight between Cody Garbrandt and Thomas Almeida for the main event of UFC Fight Night 88, according to multiple reports.
The event is set to take place May 29 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
Garbrandt (3-0 UFC) and Almeida (4-0 UFC) are two of the hottest young fighters in the bantamweight division, with the pair boasting a 28-0 overall record between them.
Almeida is coming off a first-round knockout victory over Anthony Birchak at UFC Fight Night 77 last November.
Garbrandt took down Augusto Mendes with a first-round TKO in a catchweight bout at UFC Fight Night 83 in February.
