Bosse gets 1st UFC win with annihilation of Te Huna
This time, it was Steve Bosse's turn to deliver a highlight-reel knockout.
In a complete reversal of his UFC debut that saw him put to sleep by a head kick from Thiago Santos, it was Bosse who landed the perfect strike to decimate James Te Huna in their light heavyweight bout at UFC Fight Night 85.
The feeling-out process lasted only a few seconds as Bosse came out swinging. Te Huna stood strong in the center of the cage, but he was caught by a right cross that left him completely stiff. The referee stoppage was academic at that point.
It was a stunning end that could drastically alter the career courses of both men. For the 34-year-old Bosse, it was a much-needed victory after losing in just 29 seconds last June. He wins his first UFC contest.
On the other side, Te Huna loses his fourth straight fight. He's lost all four of those fights in the first round. The brutal KO brought back memories of the last time he fought in Brisbane, when he was finished in similar fashion by Mauricio "Shogun" Rua.
This could be the end of the road for Te Huna who has been competing in mixed martial arts since 2003.
