Report: Chan Sung Jung looking to return to UFC after 2-year hiatus

You can't keep a good zombie down.

Chan Sung Jung, affectionately known as "The Korean Zombie," is eligible to return to UFC competition after being out of action for the past two years due to mandatory military service requirements in South Korea. He is interested in returning in late 2016 or early 2017, according to MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani.

A fight on home soil would be ideal for Jung, but the UFC does not currently have an event planned for that country. The organization made its debut in South Korea when it visited Seoul last November for UFC Fight Night 79.

The 29-year-old Jung last fought in 2013, a title fight against then-featherweight champion Jose Aldo. Jung would go on to lose via TKO when a dislocated shoulder left him vulnerable to a finishing sequence of punches.

Prior to that loss, Jung had won three straight fights including a seven-second KO of Mark Hominick and a submission of Dustin Poirier in a 2012 Fight of the Year candidate.
