Justin Allgaier: Late addition to Brickyard field
Allgaier will join the Brickyard 400 field as the driver of the No. 48 car after Jimmie Johnson tested positive for COVID-19 and was forced to withdraw, Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports reports.
Analysis:
Allgaier doesn't have a race under his belt with the Cup Series this season, but that will change this weekend. His last race in the top circuit last season ended poorly, with him finishing 39th after crashing. Allgaier's stay in the Cup will likely last just a race or two depending on how long it takes for Johnson to get cleared to return to the driver's seat.
