Truex Jr. finished second in the Drydene 311 at Dover International Speedway Saturday afternoon.
Analysis:
The afternoon belonged to Joe Gibbs Racing at the Monster Mile. Truex was a big part of that dominance on the track. He piloted the No. 19 Toyota to 88 laps led and he battled throughout the race with teammate, Denny Hamlin, for the lead. Truex would take command late in stage 3, but he couldn't hold off the hard-charging Hamlin. He would watch the No. 11 Toyota sail by with just 8 laps to go and have to settle for the strong runner-up finish. It was Truex's ninth Top-5 finish of the season and extends his current Top-5 streak to six races.
