Bubba Wallace won't return to drive the No. 43 car for Richard Petty Motorsports during 2021, NASCAR announced Thursday.
His contract is set to expire at the end of this season.
The 26-year-old has spoken with other teams and confirmed in August that he had received an offer from Chip Ganassi Racing to drive the No. 42 Chevrolet in 2021.
Wallace gained widespread attention after speaking out against racial inequality and social injustice on multiple occasions throughout the year.
He is the only Black driver to race in any of NASCAR's three main circuits.
