Denny Hamlin: Engine Failure
Hamlin suffered an engine failure and finished 38th in the Wurth 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday afternoon.
Analysis:
The hopes of a good finish after a good qualifying effort would soon fade for the No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing team. Hamlin would catastrophically lose his engine on lap 75 as it would explode in flames and bring him to a stop. NASCAR would wave the caution and conclude stage 1 on Hamlin's engine failure. He would be credited with 38th-place and his first DNF of the season.
