Hamlin won the FireKeepers Casino 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday afternoon.
Analysis:
Despite winning the pole, Hamlin would have to start from the rear of the field after an unapproved adjustment to his car post-qualifying. He would patiently work his way through the field and break into the Top 10 by the end of stage 2. The Joe Gibbs Racing star took the lead with 38 laps to go and ran away to an 11-second victory over Erik Jones. It was Hamlin's third win of the season and fourth-career Michigan victory.
