Trent Owens named crew chief for Aric Almirola
Trent Owens has been named crew chief for Aric Almirola, effective immediately. Owens takes over crew chiefing duties for Almirola and the No. 43 Richard Petty Motorsports team after Todd Parrott was suspended on October 17th, 2013 for violating NASCAR's substance-abuse policy. RPM then released Parrot a few days after on October 21st.
Trent Owens is a former NASCAR driver, who before his new job, served as crew chief for Kyle Larson in the Nationwide series for the No. 32 Turner Scott Motorsports team. They finished 8th in the 2013 NASCAR Nationwide season. He's also won races as a crew chief with Dave Blaney, Mark Martin, Reed Sorenson, James Buescher and Nelson Piquet Jr.
Owens is the nephew of Richard Petty.
