Reddit successfully raises $55,000 with cryptocurrency 'Dogecoin' to sponsor Josh Wise
If you remember last week, we wrote about Reddit communities r/dogecoin and r/NASCAR attempting to fund Josh Wise’s ride using the cryptocurrency “Dogecoin.”
It’s a week later, and we’ve gotten word that the car has now been successfully funded. Together, the subreddits successfully raised 67.8 million DOGE, which is approximately $55,000 USD.
The paint scheme is expected to run at the Aaron’s 499 at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday, May 4th. The choice was made for ‘Dega because due to restrictor plates, every driver has a fair advantage of winning, as opposed to other tracks.
The paint scheme featured above isn't the final product, but is a feel of what the car should look like come May.
From nothing to $55,000 in about 8 days, this is a pretty impressive feat for crowd funding over the internet.
