Kurt Busch wins Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year award

The second part of his day didn’t go as planned in the NASCAR series, but Kurt Busch finished a respectable 6th in the Indianapolis 500. As a reward for his performance, Busch won the 2014 Sunoco Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year Award.

This was the first IndyCar Series race for Busch. For finishing 6th, he walked away with $423,899, also earning a $25,000 bonus from Sunoco for winning the rookie honors.

The Andretti Autosport driver was presented the award at the Indianapolis 500 Victory Awards Celebration on Monday night.
