For the final time this year, cryptocurrency Dogecoin and content aggregator reddit.com are coming together to sponsor Phil Parsons Racing driver Josh Wise at this weekend’s Talladega race.
The two groups came together earlier this season to raise funds to have their logos featured on Wise’s No. 98 Ford Fusion. They ended up raising enough money to sponsor Wise for both the spring Talladega race, as well as the All-Star Race in Charlotte.
For the upcoming race, funding was made possible by selling Dogecoin t-shirts. 6,500 shirts were sold in just 10 days.
The race team says this week’s paint scheme will be a little different from the usual Dogecoin car, now featuring Chinese characters to “symbolize its status as a worldwide currency, and help incorporate the entire Dogecoin community on a worldwide scale.”
