Quicken Loans 500: Lap 124 - Logano penalized for pit road error

Joey Logano is the latest driver to suffer a costly pit road error that could put his Chase hopes in jeopardy.

On Lap 124 of Sunday’s Cup race in Phoenix, Logano came down to pit road under caution, but left his pit box with the gas can still attached to the car.

NASCAR rules state that you’re not allowed to leave your pit box with unapproved equipment, so Logano had to come back to pit road to serve a penalty.

He’ll restart 27th.
