Denny Hamlin: Top-10 Finish in Consumers Energy 400
Hamlin led 13 laps en route to finishing eighth in Sunday's Consumers Energy 400 at Michigan International Speedway.
Analysis:
The driver of the No. 11 Toyota had a fast car and led the first 13 laps from the pole position Sunday. Hamlin's car would fade to a sixth-place finish by the end of stage 1, and from there he would battle traffic the rest of the afternoon. During the final stage Hamlin would wage a battle back towards the front and earn his 12th Top 10 of the season. The Joe Gibbs Racing star remains ninth overall in the championship point standings.
