Jimmie Johnson: IndyCar Deal Coming Together
Johnson will transition from NASCAR to IndyCar with Chip Ganassi Racing in a partnership that could pair two of the most dominant drivers of this generation on one team, the Associated Press reports.
Analysis:
The two-year program will put Johnson in a Ganassi car for mainly the road and street course races on IndyCar's schedule. Johnson would become teammates with five-time champion, Scott Dixon. The deal is very contingent on funding. Getting sponsors on board will be a primary objective in the near-term.
