Jamie McMurray: Daytona 500 Start with Spire
Former Daytona 500 Champion McMurray will pilot the No. 77 Chevrolet Camaro entry from Spire Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup Series season opener at Daytona for the second consecutive season, Chip Ganassi Racing PR reports.
Analysis:
The retired driver, and TV analyst for FOX Sports, will make a single start this season in the Great American Race at Daytona. McMurray ran this event one year ago with this race team, and led 6 laps before crashing out late and finishing 22nd-place in the 2020 Daytona 500. The veteran driver will look to challenge the Top 15 with this race team in February's season-opener at Daytona.
