NASCAR and Xfinity Series driver Derek White is reportedly under investigation by Canadian authorities for his alleged involvement in a large-scale tobacco-smuggling ring.

White, a 45-year-old member of the Mohawk tribe, was identified in a Bloomberg Businessweek report as a high-ranking operative of the crime ring, according to a chart provided by police.

NBC Sports is reporting that White turned himself in Wednesday after being sought by police on seven charges, including three counts of conspiracy to commit fraud against the government and one count of profiteering as a criminal organization. Authorities have yet to confirm White's arrest, though several of the 60 suspects across Ontario and Quebec are already in custody, police said. The arrests are being described by officials as the biggest tobacco smuggling bust in North American history.

According to Bloomberg, authorities allege that the suspects involved in the ring have links to biker gangs and organized crime. The suspects' alleged participation is said to include buying tobacco in the U.S. and illegally importing it into Canada. Officials said profits from the tobacco imports were used to purchase cocaine.

Among the items seized in Wednesday's raid, according to Bloomberg: more than 52,800 kilograms of tobacco, 836 kilos of cocaine, 21 kilos of methamphetamine, 100 grams of fentanyl, and 35 pounds of marijuana.
