Alex Bowman: Big Fine & Penalty

NASCAR penalized each of Hendrick Motorsports' four Cup Series teams, along with the No. 31 team of Kaulig Racing, with L2-level penalties on Wednesday for unapproved parts modifications last weekend at Phoenix Raceway.

Analysis:

All four Hendrick teams were fined $100,000, penalized 100 owner/driver points and lost their respective crew chiefs for the next four events. Bowman is off to a strong start this season and that includes his Top 10 this past Sunday at Phoenix. This is a huge blow to overcome heading to Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend.
