Kyle Larson: Wins Cook Out 400 Pole
Larson won the pole for the Cook Out 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway Saturday afternoon. He turned a fast lap of 96.034 mph.
Analysis:
Speeds picked up considerably over the earlier practice session as drivers laid it on the line to grab the pole position at Martinsville. Larson showed dramatically more speed than he did in practice and would be out Bubba Wallace to claim the pole position for the Cook Out 400. It was the Hendrick Motorsports star's second pole of the season and second-career pole position at Martinsville Speedway. He'll be a top contender to win this 400-lap battle in Virginia Sunday afternoon.
