Ty Gibbs: Third in Food City 500

Gibbs finished third in the Food City 500 NASAR Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sunday afternoon.

Analysis:

Gibbs tapped into some of his recent Bristol success and turned in his best performance of the season Sunday in the Food City 500. The young driver started sixth on the grid after a strong qualifying effort. Gibbs would race among the Top 10 the full 500 laps and erase a lot of the troubles he's recently experienced. He would push into the Top 5 during stage 3 and hold off Chase Briscoe in the closing laps to secure the impressive third-place finish. It was Gibbs' first Top 5 of the season.
