Alex Bowman: Best Finish Since Return

Bowman finished third in the Jack Link's 500 NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday afternoon.

Analysis:

The driver of the No. 48 Chevrolet started 20th on the grid and kept a low profile for a good part of the race. Bowman would avoid entanglement in the lap 116 huge crash and that would be a big key in his success Sunday at Talladega. The Hendrick Motorsports star would push inside the Top 10 after that and stay there the rest of the way. Bowman would hold off Chase Elliott to secure a strong third-place finish at the checkered flag. It was his first Top 5 of the season.
