Denny Hamlin: Fifth-Place in Daytona 500
Hamlin finished fifth in the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway Sunday night.
Analysis:
The Joe Gibbs Racing star had his usual success in this Daytona race. Hamlin dominated most of the night and led a total of 98 laps. He swept the first two stages of the race, but would get shuffled late in the third stage. Hamlin would get punted from the lead by Joey Logano on lap 175 and he wouldn't be able to work his way back from there to the finish. The last-lap crash would see himself and four other cars sail through untouched and that would lead to Hamlin's fifth-place finish when the caution came out. It was his 11th-career Daytona Top-5 and fourth Top-5 finish in his last five Daytona starts.
