Green: Jordan told me to 'go get the record'
Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors have the backing of "His Airness" himself.
The Warriors on Sunday tied the NBA record of 72 regular-season wins set by Michael Jordan's 1995-96 Chicago Bulls, and Green said that the five-time MVP wants Golden State to establish a new mark in its final game.
"Mike told me at All-Star, go get the record. If you don't win the record I'm blaming you," Green said following the Warriors' win in San Antonio. "We're almost there. We got one more game or he gonna blame me."
While several members of Jordan's former team have argued that the Bulls would easily handle the Warriors could they ever face one another, Green said he's enjoyed the rivalry and respects what both teams have accomplished.
The Warriors have a shot at making history Wednesday when they face the Memphis Grizzlies in their final game of the regular season.
